About This Position
This position is located in the Security Unit, Executive Technology, Office of the Executive Secretariat, Office of the Secretary of State (S/ES-ET).
You will serve as a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Infosec) responsible for Supervising a team of Information Management Specialists.
Note: the position's official title is Information Technology Specialist (Infosec).
Qualifications

NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement. Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F. Applicants applying for the GS-14 grade level must meet the following requirements: Have IT-related experience demonstrating EACH of the four competencies AND specialized experience listed below: Attention to Detail - Studies operations and revises operational programs to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations and services provided.
Customer Service - Ensures that software applications are fully operational. Oral Communication - Contributes expertise to and provides advice and recommendations to leadership. Problem Solving - Troubleshoots, analyses problem determinations, casual isolations and priority technical direction-setting.
AND Have at least 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience implementing Federal level cybersecurity security requirements, such as those resulting from laws, regulations, mandates, directives; Experience leading S/ES assessment and authorization for on perm and FEDRAMP cloud systems; Experience working in conjunction with other IT specialists to ensure that customers are provided with well-managed, high performing infrastructure hosting services that are tailored to customer needs; Experience assigning work based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirement of assignment; evaluating work performance of subordinates; AND Experience consulting with customers, supervisor, and managers to evaluate user requirement and advise on design capabilities and maintenance responsibilities.
NOTE: In order to qualify for this position, your experience MUST be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position. Major Duties
Resolves Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) and provides a robust IT cybersecurity strategy and plans that supports on demand access to information.
Works in conjunction with other IT Specialists to ensure that customers are provided with well -managed, high performing infrastructure hosting services that are tailored to customer needs.
Directs a staff of professional and technical personnel and plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short- and long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Maintains liaison with customer officials to ensure that the services being provided meets customer requirements.
Ensures the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of IT systems through full compliance with the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) of 2014, related NIST standards, and Department security policies and standards.
