About This Position

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC T32, PDD0324000 and is part of the AZ 161st Air Refueling Wing, National Guard.

Qualifications

Military Grades: TSgt/E-6 (immediately promotable) to MSgt/E-7 Compatible Military Assignments: 2A672 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 18 months experience or training removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing parts, components, and accessories. Experience which provided working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to powered support equipment and systems; and skill to replace, fit, install, and make adjustments. Experience which provided working knowledge of the makeup and operation of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelationships.

Experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.

Major Duties

This position is located at the 161st ARW, in Phoenix, Arizona. The primary purpose of this position is to accomplish maintenance on electronically controlled powered support equipment containing highly complex digital devices and integrated circuits.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics): 1. Knowledge of the mechanical and electrical makeup and operation of powered and non-powered support systems including their major components.

  1. Ability to troubleshoot, repair, adjust and align down sized powered support equipment.
  2. Ability to diagnose gas turbine malfunctions, using visual and auditory senses, test equipment and applicable technical publications; make repairs, removes, disassembles and assembles components and sub-systems.
  3. Ability to perform required TCTOs and other modifications on powered support equipment.
  4. Ability to perform such additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operator, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or serve as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies.
