You will serve as a MATERIALS EXPEDITER in the PUBLIC WORKS DIVISION of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

This includes consideration of speed and quality of operation; coordination of hand, foot, and body movement; and training and actual record in safety.
Manual work where safety of operations or product is one aspect of efficiency and quality of workmanship. It involves not only safety of one's operations, but safety of work product where relevant, i.e., product produced by employees should not have imperfections which will cause accidents. Examples include: Observing safety rules, receiving safety training, following safety codes (electrical, fire prevention, moving equipment, etc.), safety awards received.4) The ability to be trusted to do or provide what is needed and the ability to provide the same results on successive trials.

Major Duties
You will route and expedite the movement of materials and equipment to meet schedules, deadlines and priorities by tracking critical, urgently needed requirements.
You will receive, inspect, and accept material and supplies to verify shipments and deliveries are complete and accurate, and material is in good condition.
You will coordinate with the designated Buyer to determine the requestor and issues the material to the requestor or returns the material to the vendor.
You will operate material handling equipment (MHE) up to and including 10,000-pound capacity to move material and reposition assets.

PHYSICAL EFFORT Work is performed on hard surfaces daily for extended periods of time that require standing, stooping, bending, walking, pulling, pushing, kneeling and working in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions.
Incumbent frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted using proper lifting techniques. Heavier items are moved using forklifts, material-handling equipment or with assistance from other employees. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed primarily inside and outside a warehouse, in hot, cold, drafty or poorly lighted areas.
Incumbent may be exposed to dust, dirt, grease, solvents and high noise areas while working in a mechanized work area, or chemical fumes while working in a hazardous materials area. Incumbent will be required to wear safety shoes and eyewear. Additional personal protective equipment (PPE) include, but not are not limited to, hard hats, gloves, masks, and hearing protection.
