About This Position

The Office of Human Resources (OHR) supports the Department's mission of administering justice by developing and implementing policy and programs, providing guidance, and leading efforts to attract, develop, and retain high performing employees. You will serve as a Human Resources Specialist, responsible for providing assistance on Division Executive Resources services, including Senior Executive Service (SES) and Senior Level (SL) recruitment and staffing, and other HR related matters.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Human Resources Specialist (Executive Resources and Special Programs), at GS-0201-9, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below. To qualify for the GS-9 Human Resources Specialist (Executive Resources and Special Programs) position, you must demonstrate that you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in the federal service performing such duties as: monitoring and evaluating legislative regulations; assisting with setting up conferences, seminars, or briefings; and drafting responses to difficult questions. OR Have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or successfully completed at least 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR received an LL.B or J.D if related. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 36. Add the two percentages. You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including time-in-grade, by the 02/18/2026 of this announcement. Major Duties

The duties and responsibilities for a GS-0201-9 Human Resources Specialist (Executive Resources and Special Programs) generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Assists in the preparation of requests for additional allocations and reallocation of existing positions, reassignment of onboard executive level personnel, and the detailing of executives and non-executives to and from executive level positions. Aids the Assistant Director in preparing briefings of employees on changes associated with their conversion to the SES or SL to include changes in pay, leave accruals, performance management, and award eligibility. Assists with drafting vacancy announcements, identifying applicable qualifications and qualification standards, providing support to the Assistant Director's interactions with the Division's Executive Resources Board (ERB) through the evaluation process. Assists the Assistant Director with conferences, seminars, briefings, and similar meetings where purpose is to inform and educate management and employees on the HP, SLIP, and the VLIP. Drafts updates and assists with changes to policies that govern Division level non-monetary awards
