About This Position

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administrator (DEA), Operations Division, Office of Training.

This position(s) primary purpose is to assist and work closely with the Class Coordinators, Instructors, Unit Chief, and Section Chief performing a variety of duties related to curriculum, scheduling, operational policies and plans, long-term training objectives, identification of DEA training needs and the development of new programs, and training schedules.

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify for the GS-07 position, Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes performing the following duties: Assisting in the development, implementation, evaluation, and coordination of educational curriculum-based programs; establishing and maintaining individual training files; updating databases with appropriate training completion information. To qualify for the GS-08 position, Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes performing the following duties: Preparing educational materials, maintaining course development materials; providing recommendations to students completing degree and educational curriculum-based programs and training programs; assisting in the development of course objectives and lesson plans for course instructions.

Major Duties

As a Training Technician (OA) your typical work assignments may include: Developing, designing, coordinating, preparing, and monitoring training schedules and ensures course material and handouts are produced and available. Maintaining inventory control of all lesson plans, student handouts, overheads, and other essential instructional material. Initiates action to procure items, printing services, and photography services.

Coordinating procurement actions with the contracting office and ensures all actions are within established procurement procedures. Using several types of software, such as spreadsheet, database, word processing, desktop publishing, and graphics applications to generate specific working documents and forms. Developing, coordinating, and monitoring training schedules and coordinates complex logistical support.
