About This Position

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Ramstein Youth Center, Ramstein AB, Germany.

This position does not offer logistical support. Department of the Air Force Child and Youth Programs Employee Child Care Discount applicable to this position (see Additional Information). Plans, organizes, implements, and provides specific instruction and training for cheerleading or dance for youth (ages 2 through 18) at Ramstein Air Base.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Applicants must have instructional/training experience in which the applicant demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the pay band level of this position.

Applicants must have extensive experience and practices of a discipline in which they have instructed or a similar specialty area of instruction. Certification through an associated professional organization is preferred. Affiliation with local, national or similar organization for cross-cultural experiences is preferred. Must be able to lift 40 pounds or more and stand for long periods of time. Must be a high school graduate, or equivalent; and be able to provide proof (i.e., diploma or equivalent) for verification

Major Duties

Plans, organizes, implements, and provides specific instruction and training for dance (ages 2 through 18) at Ramstein Air Force Bases. Offers instruction at various levels of experience, from beginner to advanced. Total program must meet current Air Force Program requirements.

Coordinates planning and scheduling of all classes, programs, and events with instructional coordinator. Maintains accurate attendance records of participants in said programs. Acts as a liaison between the youth center and the participants/parents to enforce and explain operating procedures, class policies, and payment policies of the program.

Meets with parents quarterly or on an as-needed basis to discuss the current progress of their child. Responsible for setting up and taking down all support equipment at least 15 minutes prior to and after scheduled class time. Opens classroom to parents on request.

Develops specific curriculum guidelines for a particular program. Assists in training of subordinate instructors/staff in a particular program to ensure staff are meeting curriculum guidelines. Aides the coordinator of instructional classes in scheduling and event programming for at least one special youth related event, recital, or tournament per year.

This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.

Additional Information

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Child Development Program will provide a 50% childcare fee discount for all CYP Training Instructors for the first child enrolled in a full-time or regular part-time DAF CDP. A 25% discount will apply for the second child and any additional children will receive 15%. Training Instructors must spend a minimum of 75% of their work schedule in the classroom and flex employees who average 15 hours a week.

This position requires the incumbent to be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Direct deposit is required.

A probationary period may be required. Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD). Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
