GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates a working knowledge of electronic principles involved in the generation and measurement of such elements as voltage, current, impedance, capacitance, frequency, and inductance. Experience in the use of various precision measurement instruments and standards. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training with basic application of operating principles such as the production and utilization of oscillations over a broad range of frequencies; signal and waveform behavior, distortion, and amplification; pulse, trigger, and synchronization techniques; digital/analog processing and data conversion techniques; and a variety of display and indication methods.

Experience in tracing signals and voltage paths, and skilled in the analysis of waveform characteristics such as timing, duration, frequency, and phasing. Originates test set-ups to isolate malfunctions and check performance characteristics of special or unique test panels or mockups. Experience in interpreting and applying a variety of technical electronic information such as schematic symbols, mathematical expressions and formulas, calibration procedures, and other reference materials.

Experience in applying established techniques and methods of repair, testing, alignment, and calibration of equipment, which serves as test equipment or precision measurement standards. Experience in utilizing electronic circuits to measure electronic or electrical quantities to determine the performance characteristics and accuracy of other instruments and equipment.

Major Duties

Position Description # D1202000 POSITION DUTIES: This position is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J-4), Surface Maintenance Facility. The primary purpose of this position is to perform calibration, diagnostics repair, and certification of electronic, mechanical, and radiation Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE). MAJOR DUTIES: 1.

Serves as a Small Shop Chief performing all of the following tasks: (a) Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop, which is then completed by the individual and lower graded worker(s). (b) Possesses the knowledge and skills found at the journeyman level as well as those required for planning, accomplishing, and maintaining a functional shop maintenance program. (c) Independently determines appropriate maintenance procedures such as how and when the work should be accomplished. Estimates manpower, equipment, and material requirements. (d) Devises and maintains program plans and records, is skilled in surveillance and troubleshooting techniques, and is able to determine maintenance/repair procedures needed without benefit of technical supervisory guidance. (e) Plans, organizes, and directs shop maintenance programs/procedures under general supervision. (f) Determines approaches, methods, and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner. (g) May provide recommendations and input to the supervisor concerning personnel actions such as performance appraisals, awards, position description changes, disciplinary actions, leave, etc.

DEFINITION FOR AREAS OF CONSIDERATION Area 1: Current On-board Title 32 Technicians (Tenure: 1-Permanent, 2-Conditional, 3-Indefinite) and Permanent AGRs in the West Virginia National Guard at the advertised location. Area 2: Current On-board Title 32 Technicians (Tenure: 1-Permanent, 2-Conditional, 3-Indefinite) and Permanent AGRs in the West Virginia National Guard. Area 3: WVNG Army M-Day and Air Force DSG (Drill-Status Guardsmen,) Temporary Title 32 Technicians, Temporary AGR (OTOT), and national guardsmen serving on Full-time National Guard Duty - Operational Support Orders (ADOS).

Area 4: Federal re-employable eligible employees, National Guardsmen outside of the WVNG, and U.S Citizens willing to join the West Virginia National Guard as a condition of employment. Permanent Change of Station: PCS funds are not available for this position. Incentives: Relocation and Recruitment Incentives may be authorized for this position.
