About This Position

This position will be filled at Sembach, GE or Sobe, Japan. Position is for the following: 0300 Mixed Teacher 0375-Teacher (Japanese) and certification in an any other secondary curricular area. Qualifications

Who May Apply: U.S. Citizens This is a mixed position: 0375- Teacher (Japanese), Certification in an additional secondary curricular area is also required to be considered for this position.

Applicant must have at least a Bachelor's Degree. 0375 Teacher (Japanese)- A minimum 24 semester hours of Japanese coursework or a minimum score of Intermediate High on OPI from ACTFL is required. A minimum of 6 semester hours of theory and methodology of teaching a foreign language is required.

Major Duties

The incumbent: Teacher, DoDEA Virtual School Duties: Assists students in completing online work as appropriate. Designs and develops online lessons and assessments for publication in the Learning Management System. Creates, maintains and updates communication log for assigned students.

Is available to staff, students and sponsors via phone, instant message or other synchronous communication tools. Communicates regularly with students, sponsors, staff and assigned administrators. Collaborates with other educators in required content area digital learning communities (DLCs) to exchange ideas and utilize best practices for online learning.
