About This Position

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION - PERMANENT. This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN, Position Description Number NGD0849000 and is part of the Guam GUARNG Element, National Guard.

Qualifications

MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted: E4 - E6 COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: Enlisted: 92Y SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service (or equivalent experience in the private or military sector) performing supply support duties. Experience in performing material coordination for maintenance, production, or supply operations. Experience in maintaining and reconciling supply accountability records.

Experience in researching and reconstructing supply transaction records to resolve discrepancies. Specialized experience must be directly related to the duties of the position as described in the Position Description.

Major Duties

This position is located in the Army or Air National Guard. Its purpose is to provide storage and distribution, cataloging or supply identification systems, property utilization, or other related supply activities including those associated with automated or manual supply accounting systems.

  1. Performs routine and nonroutine material coordination duties for special programs, maintenance, or production shops.
  2. Responsible for local management of decentralized and decontrolled items which requires technical intervention to assure effective supply support and economy. Items are less stable or standardized and do not lend themselves to routine control through the use of the computer and variable supply level formulas. Plans requirements, both quantitative and monetary, to satisfy customer needs. Authorizes procurement and is responsible for funds management.
  3. Responsible for limited aspects of storage management. May develop and install local procedures and techniques to achieve and maintain smooth, effective, and coordination storage operations.
  4. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, the following education is required to qualify for position: 1 full year of graduate level education; or superior academic achievement You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics): Knowledge of established supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to material coordination, storage management, and supply operations. Knowledge of requisitions, supporting documentation, and reference materials necessary to perform material coordination and ensure accurate supply transactions. Ability to conduct extensive searches and reconstruct records to resolve discrepancies in complex supply transactions.

Knowledge of inventory management, excess property procedures, and storage management operations sufficient to support decentralized supply activities. Ability to apply practical knowledge of supply systems and procedures to analyze and resolve technical supply problems involving varied and nonroutine assignments.
