About This Position

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This position is for a Supervisory Supply Technician, Position Description Number D1948000 and is part of the 165th Logistics Readiness Squadron in Garden City, Georgia. This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires Air National Guard Membership. Area of Consideration: Current members of the Georgia Air National Guard within the 165th LRS.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered.

Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training dealing with cost estimates, budgets or funding management. Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support.

Major Duties

As a Supervisory Supply Technician, GS-2005-09, you will: Plan and organize the work performed in the sections to provide optimum service, efficiency, and productivity. Develop and establish performance standards and rates the performance of subordinates. Select or participate in the selection of new employees.

Conduct and document corrective interviews with subordinates. Approve sick and annual leave and establish leave schedules. Determine training needs of subordinates and ensure training is provided. Prepare, approve, and assign official job descriptions and performance appraisals.

Prepare, justify, and recommend performance awards. Keep employees informed of various personnel programs. Advise employees on work and administrative matters. Serve as the technical expert in resolving work related problems, which cannot be resolved by subordinates.

Implement, promote, and effectively support equal opportunity for all personnel.

Follow provisions of local labor agreements and applicable directives on personnel management. Interpret, plan, establish, and prioritize work requirements for affected elements and personnel. Provide technical advice and supervise the Maintenance Support Section.

Determine effectiveness of support and recommend changes to both maintenance and supply activities. Review materiel management changes, determine operational restraints and implement procedures as required. Determine section operational effectiveness by analyzing historical and current data, preparing comparison graphics and utilizes same for purpose of setting goals.

Prepare guidance to subordinates in helping to achieve set goals. Regularly converse with the Global Logistics Support Center (GLSC) in resolving logistical problems. Manage the Career Field Education and Training Plan (CFETP) for the Maintenance Support Section.

Ensure a Master Training Plan is developed and OJT is planned, developed, and conducted for all personnel assigned to the sections to ensure taskings are met. Prepare replies for Internal Surveillance program and ensure self-inspection program is conducted for sections. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

If you are using Education to qualify for this position: High school graduate or the equivalent may be substituted for three months of specialized experience. Education in schools above the high school level may be substituted for experience on the basis of one academic year of study (i.e., 36 weeks or substantially full-time study or 30 semester hours or the equivalent.) for 12 months of the required experience. For experience required in excess of 24 months, education in schools above the high schools level may be substituted at the rate of one academic year of education for six months of experience.

School above high schools level means an educational institution (e.g., a business or commercial school or college, a secretarial school, a junior college or a college or university.) for which high school graduation or the equivalent is a prerequisite and in which an applicant successfully completed study which was not primarily limited to courses in word processing and keyboarding or both. Substantially full-time study in the case of business and commercial schools is the equivalent of at least 20 classroom hours of instruction per week. One academic year consists of approximately 36 weeks of substantially full-time study or 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours.
