This position is located at Fort Hamilton, New York. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Experience that demonstrated the ability to apply the principles of sports, fitness and aquatics. Experience in planning and administering sports, fitness and aquatics program.

Experience in a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports. This experience may have been gained managing or administering a sports program in a community, industrial activity, school or college; or planning, teaching, or evaluating a physical education curriculum for a secondary or higher academic level. Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade.

Ability to make decisions IAW Army and DOD policies. Ability to generate and maintain effective relationships with outside agencies. Strong communication skills required. Ability to write various staff office documents.

Knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, etc., required.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Highly Qualified: Possess at least one year of experience managing a sports, fitness, or aquatics program, Possess at least one year of experience with/for APF and NAF budgeting in a sports, fitness, or aquatics prgoram. Experience MUST be reflected on your Resume at the time of application to be considered for Standard and/or Highly Qualified for this position. Applicants meeting the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred first to the Selecting Official.

Major Duties

Annually administers the conduct of the installation's sports, fitness and aquatics programs. Works closely with sports professionals within the Army and other Services, as well as volunteers and contractors.

Ensures the program adheres to current military and installation regulations, standard operating procedures, and protocol.

Responsible for organizing, scheduling, and publicizing activities and programs, to include special events based upon customer interest, command directives and available resources. Develops and executes both an APF and NAF budget.

Responsible for all staffing requirements within the sports, fitness and aquatic program area. May conduct sports specific instructional classes. Performs the full range of supervisory duties and actively supports the Equal Opportunity Program.

Responsible for the daily operation of all fitness facilities, outdoor sports facilities and fields, and aquatic facilities.
