About This Position

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST T32, PDD2642000 and is part of the AZ 162nd Wing, National Guard.

Qualifications

Military Grades: SMSgt/E-8 to CMSgt/E-9 Compatible Military Assignments: Possess any AFSC SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 36 months of experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

Major Duties

This position is located at the 162 wing in Tucson, Arizona. The purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to a National level Special Access Program (SAP). This position may oversee contractors but only in rare instances oversee the COR. To develop goals and objectives that integrate special access program security requirements that support military, civilian, and contractors to include all assigned and/or attached units and that meet Air Force and Air National Guard (ANG) objectives.

Knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, independently analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems; apply policy direction to contractors and government/military officials, and develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various levels or degrees of security controls. 2. Knowledge of a broad range of security program relationships, and proficiency in personnel, physical, operations, and communications security to effectively implement and administer applicable security programs and/or coordinate with other specialized security programs. 3. Knowledge of required Security Special Access program (SAP) and sensitive compartmented information (SCI) security procedures. 4. Skill in planning, developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve security program operations. 5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to disseminate guidance, letters, bulletins, reports and other information on security issues and programs, conduct training and briefings, and present issues/recommendations. 6. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of the organization as a first level supervisor; including ability to effectively apply agency personnel, safety, and security regulations, practices, and procedure.
