About This Position

This position is located within the Criminal Division, Office of Administration, Resource Planning and Evaluation (RPE) staff. The Office of Administration furthers the Criminal Division's mission by providing operational support to the Division's employees in Washington, D.C., field locations throughout the United States, and in approximately 60 countries around the world.

Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-14 level, applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-13 federal grade level. This experience must include duties such as: preparing justifications for a consolidated budget for all substantive programs and supporting administrative activities; assisting senior managers to set objectives to meet short and long term operational budget and resource needs; providing program assessment and oversight to meet the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA); conducting various ad-hoc analyses, preparing reports, and compiling information for management; and reviewing and interpreting new and established directives and instructions to determine their impact on an organization and its programs. Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements for consideration by the closing date of this announcement.

Major Duties

As a Supervisory Program Analyst (Assistant Director, RPE), you will: Lead the development and formulation of the Division's budget requests to the Department of Justice, other Executive Agencies, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and Congress. Lead the creation of the budget justification narrative to ensure it adequately describes the Division's needs and accomplishments. Lead and plan evaluations of programmatic and administrative areas within the Division and the Department in order to improve operations.

Lead in developing Division-wide performance reporting capabilities and management reports. Provide oversight responsibility for the Division's mandated integration and on-going reporting requirements of the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) and GPRA Modernization Act. Aid the Director in providing staff leadership for the formulation and development of the Division's financial resources including its appropriated reimbursable budgets.

Provide expertise in the Division's budget formulation, evaluation, and workload reporting in the Division.
