About This Position
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (AIRCRAFT), Position Description Number D2504000 and is part of the KS 190 Air Refueling Wing, National Guard.
Qualifications
Military Grades: E-7- immediately promotable to E-8, and E-8 Compatible Military Assignments: 2AXXX or 2RXXX GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training equivalent to at least one year at the next lower grade level in computations of cost data on labor and materials, buying materials or reviewing data with respect to man-hours, machine time, materials consumed, etc. Experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.
Must have experience in managing the function of work to be performed. Experience that includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
Major Duties
As a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER, GS-1152-11, you will develop, interpret, and provide program guidance to the Wing regarding maintenance policies, procedures, budget, training criteria, and manpower/personnel. Interprets command aircraft assignment configuration and reporting policy and informs appropriate Wing personnel of requirements and provides sufficient follow-up to ensure compliance. Create functional checklists, guides, and other evaluation tools for use in determining the proficiency of maintenance operations personnel in accomplishing related maintenance tasks.
Develops, recommends, and reviews new or supplemental draft maintenance procedures and instructions applicable to aircraft maintenance missions. Manages the maintenance training program and implements policies to ensure maintenance personnel are properly trained to fulfill mission requirements. Evaluate the overall structure of maintenance organizations, identifying program deficiencies and areas for improvement.
Prepare and present summaries/briefings on maintenance manpower levels and any impact on readiness. Provide recommendations to accommodate shortfalls. Review and coordinate maintenance personnel and position change requests.
Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.
