You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Serving as a technical authority in monitoring background investigations or adjudicative determinations related to personnel vetting; Analyzing background investigation information to determine if sufficient evidence exists to support credentialing, fitness, suitability and security determinations; Determining the suitability and/or national security eligibility of individuals for entry or retention in sensitive and non-sensitive positions; Overseeing programs related to personnel security vetting, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission; OR Providing junior staff with ongoing training on personnel vetting policies and procedures.

Major Duties
As a Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist (Section Chief), GS-14 you will perform the following duties: Serve as the authoritative source and subject matter expert on personnel security vetting assigned area, advising agency officials and staff. Issue guidance and ensure compliance with personnel security vetting policies and regulations. Advises on developments and advancements in personnel security vetting programs, such as suitability/fitness, national security eligibility, or continuous evaluation.
Plan, direct, and oversee all personnel security vetting resources and programs under the section's purview. Coordinate with internal and external partners to support personnel security vetting investigations and determinations.
