About This Position
This position is in the DoD Office of Inspector General, Office of the Chief Information Officer. The incumbent is an IT specialist that oversees the Data & Information Management Directorate that provides data strategy and architecture, business intelligence, records management, and information governance. The incumbent will serve as the Chief Data Officer overseeing the agency's data management services ensuring quality, traceability, timeliness, usability, and cost effectiveness.

Basic Requirements: GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. and Specialized Experience: You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-14 level in the federal service or at an equivalent level. Specialized Experience is defined as demonstrated experience performing the following duties: - Managing and leading data management teams. - Managing and leading business intelligence teams. - Managing and leading records management teams. - In-depth knowledge and understanding of data and analytics governance best practices. Major Duties
Foster the creation of a data-informed culture and data literacy. Build partnerships with appropriate leadership and stakeholders to establish the vision for managing data as a business asset, and to leverage data and analytics capabilities.
Be the main leader and authority for understanding how to utilize the value of OIG information assets, and what technologies and analytics are needed or used to render insights for decision making.
Coordinate with appropriate OIG stakeholders and teams responsible for protecting, disseminating, and generating data to prioritize and ensuring data initiatives align with requirements. Expand the OIGโs data approaches and technologies.

Incumbent will be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
