Supervisory Inspection Analyst (Head of Inspection Analysis)
About This Position
Serves as the senior supervisory official responsible for leading and directing complex administrative, operational, and employee misconduct investigations across the Social Security Administration. The incumbent establishes and oversees a rapid-response team to address administrative complaints, employee matters, and programmatic challenges, providing agency-wide internal oversight and ensuring effective resolution of complex, sensitive, and high-risk matters.
Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-1801-15 Supervisory Inspection Analyst position, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing ALL of the following: -Leading and supervising teams responsible for complex administrative, operational, or employee misconduct investigations -Developing, implementing, and evaluating policies, procedures, or long-term plans related to inspection, analysis, or investigative functions -Managing resources, setting priorities, and evaluating performance of multidisciplinary staff -Coordinating investigative activities and information sharing with law enforcement agencies, legal counsel, or oversight bodies -Reviewing and analyzing investigative findings to ensure accuracy, objectivity, and compliance with laws, regulations, and standards -Preparing and presenting comprehensive reports and recommendations to senior leadership or external oversight bodies -Tracking and verifying implementation of corrective actions and documenting activities in a case management system This position requires a background investigation and financial disclosure as conditions of employment, not minimum qualifications.

Major Duties
Provides leadership and strategic direction to the Inspection and Analysis Team of analysts and inspectors, setting organizational priorities in alignment with the agencyβs mission and goals.
Develops, implements, and evaluates agency-wide policies, procedures, and long-term plans to ensure effective and efficient inspection and analysis operations, including rapid-response mechanisms for administrative and operational matters.
Oversees intake, triage, and review of internal referrals, including non-OIG administrative complaints and matters referred by OIG, ensuring timely and consistent resolution.
Directs the teamβs liaison activities with local, state, and Federal law enforcement, including SSA-OIG, and coordinates the release of information and inquiries related to employee investigations and security actions.
Oversees the review, analysis, and synthesis of investigative findings, ensuring accuracy, objectivity, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
Strengthens internal accountability by measuring compliance corrective actions, auditing internal accountability measures, and ensuring activities align with all applicable statutes, regulations, and agency policies.

In addition to meeting the basic eligibility criteria, ICTAP applicants must be well qualified for the position. Well-qualified is defined as having knowledge, skills, and abilities that clearly exceed the minimum qualification requirements for the position. Under numeric rating procedures, qualified ICTAP applicants must receive a rating of 85 or higher to be eligible for selection.
