About This Position

This position is located within the Support Services Division, IT Services - Fort Riley Support the team that provides MWR programs for our military and their families! By offering Information Technology services, diagnosis and troubleshooting, your contributions will keep the systems online and available. Recreation and business activities rely on IT services to get the job done everyday!

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Experience, education and/or specialized training sufficient to demonstrate knowledge and skill in: Principles and methods for integrating information systems components. Performance tuning tools and techniques.

System diagnostic tool and fault identification techniques. Systems administration methods. IT security principles. Demonstrated work experience must be equivalent in complexity, difficulty and responsibility to the next lower pay band level.

Highly Preferred Criteria: Applicants meeting highly preferred criteria will be referred to management first.(Any experience that meets the Highly Preferred Criteria, must be reflected in your resume to receive credit). Highly preferred is defined as having met at least one (1) of the following criteria: Possess CompTIA A+ certification.

Minimum of one year experience with hardware/software security best practices (patches, security updates, etc.), Minimum of one year experience with networking (LAN and wireless). Minimum of one year experience in IT diagnosing/troubleshooting (CPU, monitors, printers, etc.). Major Duties

Serves as the Supervisor of the IT Branch, supervising a team of specialists (NF-4/GS-09 level) performing Systems Administration and the delivery of Information Technology.

Formulates and publishes technical guidance and standard operating procedures for IT specialists; and ensures that supplies, equipment and other materials are available.

Implements systems security plans, policies and preventive maintenance schedules. Using systems diagnostic tools and fault identification techniques, runs tests to verify operability and functionality.

Provides ongoing optimization and problem solving support to minimize interruptions in customers' ability to carry out critical business activities.; Prepares and presents reports and briefings to technical staff.

Supervises staff, defines organizational objectives and specific goals of the subordinate IM element, and plans short/ long-range work to be accomplished. Adjusts schedules, objectives, and goals for the workload, personnel required, and priorities.
