About This Position

THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is part of the IN Surface Maintenance Office, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number D1253000. If you would like the complete list of duties, please contact the POC of this announcement.

Qualifications

MILITARY GRADES: WO1-CW4 or O1-O3 COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 88A, 90A, 91A, 92A, 91, 94, 882A, 915, 920A, 920B, 948 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more classes of equipment. The experience must include knowledge of standard shop terminology. A basic knowledge of mechanical principles relating to equipment.

Experience must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical publications. Knowledge is of the type gained from technical training, education, and experience in functions such as repairing, overhauling, maintaining, constructing, or inspecting equipment. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least 1-year equivalent to at least next lower grade level experience, education or training overseeing and implementing a program involving the identification and resolution of difficult issues or problems in a maintenance function. Experience preparing budgets based on plans for maintenance, repair work, new construction alteration projects, replacement of existing equipment, or increase in services and processes to ensure program effectiveness.

Major Duties

Supervises, instructs, and trains subordinates in the performance of work.

Tracks and provides guidance to subordinate units on the National Logistics awards program.

Serves as the State Logistics Readiness Training program manager.

Plans, develops, and manages the Maintenance Assistance and Instruction (MAIT) program to provide necessary training and development of unit personnel.

Oversees the State Command Logistics Discipline Programs and tracks all metrics pertaining to those programs.

May serve as a member of the State Readiness Committee and as Chief of the MAIT.

Performs other duties as assigned.

equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grade GS-11 including qualifying with combination of education and experience.
