Basic Requirements for Clinical Psychologist: Degree: Successful completion of a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in Clinical Psychology. YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes development and implementation of batteries of psychological instruments to assess patients; providing diagnostic evaluations; and providing individual and group counseling. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Licensure Requirement: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license as a doctoral level psychologist offered by a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges. Maintaining professional certifications is a requirement for continuing employment. YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR CLINICAL LICENSE.

Major Duties

Serve as Chief, Mental Health Division, Directorate of Treatment Programs (DTP), Military Correctional Complex (MCC), consisting of the United States Disciplinary Barracks (USDB) and Midwest Joint Regional Correctional Facility (JRCF).
Responsible for developing clinical assessments, treatment plans, providing direct treatment for inmates with complex mental health diagnoses, and evaluating potential internal and external risks associated with behavioral health issues.
Provide direct psychological services for many of the most complex, challenging clinical cases, including individual and group counseling.
Provide emergency and on-call services.
Plan, direct, and assign work to subordinates to include a subordinate supervisor based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
Serve as a subject matter expert on correctional health care for all subordinate staff and is instrumental in the development of correctional health care professionals through mentoring and training.
Direct oversight for health care related standards required for compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Program and certification through the Department of Justice.

Part 115, the MCC shall not hire or promote anyone who may have contact with inmates, who: has engaged in sexual abuse in a prison, jail, lockup, community confinement facility, juvenile facility, or other institution (as defined in 42 U.S.C. 1997); has been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse; or has been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse.
