Qualifications

To qualify for this position you must meet one of the basic requirements described below: Degree: accounting or a related field (such as business administration, finance, or public administration) that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours (or 36 quarter hours) in accounting (may include up to 6 hours of business law).

Combination of education and experience: 4 years of accounting experience or a combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge AND 24 semester hours (or 36 quarter hours) in accounting/auditing courses or a certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor. Specialized Experience:

In addition to meeting the basic requirements, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume. Specialized experience is defined as: serving as a Supervisory Auditor and subject matter source in basic government auditing concepts; leading audit curriculum development and instruction; providing recommendations for audit training policies; leading and managing initiatives for improving training policies, programs, standards, activities, and business practices in the areas of contract audit.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Major Duties

This position serves as Chief, Foundations Branch for the Defense Contract Audit Institute (DCAI) and requires excellent attention to detail, problem solving and political astuteness skills

Directs, executes and evaluates auditing courses to ensure DCAA audit training requirements are met. Exercises both technical and administrative direction to professional auditors.

Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities and develops employees, responsible for the training and certification of the course manager, trains subordinate course managers, and conducts quarterly in-class evaluations.

Portfolio for the Foundations Branch include the new hire training curriculum, intern training and development, and all other audit foundational courses and programs.

Ensures courses address all audit program areas to include GAGAS, DCAA Contract Audit Manual, DoW Financial Management Certification, and DAWIA standards and policies.

Conditions of Employment

The FM Certification Program is a course-based program consisting of three certification levels. PCS: Relocation expenses reimbursed - Yes - You may qualify for reimbursement of relocation expenses in accordance with agency policy. Relocation expenses will be offered based on agency staffing needs and budgetary availability.
