Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Basic Education Requirement - Accounting Degree or Related Field Applicants must meet one of the following: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, OR Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, public administration, or a related field that includes at least 24 semester hours in accounting (up to 6 hours may be business law). Official transcripts must be submitted with the application. Education cannot be credited without documentation.

Combination of Education and Professional Accounting Experience Applicants may qualify with at least four (4) years of accounting-related experience, education, and/or training demonstrating professional accounting knowledge AND one of the following: Completion of 24 semester hours in accounting or auditing coursework (transcripts required); Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification (certificate required); or Demonstrated professional accounting knowledge equivalent to a four-year accounting program, supported by education, training, and qualifying experience (documentation required). In addition to meeting the Basic Education Requirement, applicants must meet one of the following: Specialized Experience One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Analyzing and reconciling financial accounts and transactions Preparing financial reports and supporting year-end closeout activities Maintaining and utilizing automated accounting systems Developing or improving accounting procedures and processes Establishing work priorities and managing deadlines Providing technical guidance and supervisory oversight to staff Your resume must include job title, duties performed, employment dates (month/year), and hours worked per week. Graduate Education Substitution A master's degree or two (2) full years of graduate education in accounting or a closely related field may substitute for specialized experience. Please

Major Duties

DUTIES: Duties of this position include, but are not limited to: Team Leadership & Operational Oversight: Supervises and directs daily operations of assigned staff, including work assignments, scheduling, leave approval, performance management, employee development, and resolution of workplace issues. Financial Analysis & Account Reconciliation: Analyzes financial transactions and reconciles general ledger and subsidiary accounts to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper financial reporting. Financial Reporting & Year-End Support: Prepares routine financial reports and assists with fiscal year-end closeout activities to support organizational financial operations.

Financial Systems & Process Improvement: Develops procedural guidance and provides recommendations for improvements to accounting processes, policies, and automated financial systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Data Analysis & Management Support: Evaluates financial and statistical data and advises management by recommending solutions to complex financial or operational issues.

Training, Collaboration & Program Support: Participates in organizational meetings, delivers training, develops instructional materials, and collaborates with stakeholders to support Finance Center initiatives Additional Responsibilities & Flexibility: Perform and adapt to additional responsibilities as needed.
