About This Position

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Qualifications

Four years of specific experience that provides an in-depth knowledge of laws, policies, regulations and procedures related to personnel security, suitability adjudication or related field. Education may be substituted for experience. Knowledge of laws, regulations and an understanding of Marine Corps Community Services organizations missions and programs. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required. This position is designated as a Position of Trust, and the incumbent must be suitable for employment and eligible for a background check. The incumbent must obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance to complete assigned duties that require access to classified information. An active or former clearance is preferred. NOTE: This position is identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent is subject to random drug testing because duties must be performed with a high level of productivity, reliability and judgment to prevent adversely affecting personnel safety, and causing risk/damage to government property, and/or significant adverse impact to day-to-day operations.

Major Duties

Designated as one of the Suitability Adjudicator for Marine Corps NAF positions. May be required to perform the adjudication, recommendation of adjudicative determinations. Reviews investigations and referrals containing suitability issues. Reviews background investigations to ensure compliance with agency submission requirements. Provide advice over the most sensitive and controversial suitability matters to applicants, employees, and organization personnel. Review and evaluate cases involving potential suitability disqualification based on fraud. Review and evaluate cases for indicators to identify potential future problems and provide written justification to support decisions involving complex adjudicative concepts. Assists the Personnel Officer in administration of a NAF Personnel Program. Direct responsibility may include any combination of the following personnel functional areas: employee relations, staffing/recruitment, wage/classification, employee development, labor relations, employee benefits, etc. Provides expertise, guidance, consultation and support on a wide variety of personnel issues to management officials, supervisors and employees in the area of personnel management. Performs a variety of duties that require the application of the full range of personnel theories, principles, methods and techniques. Designated as a Suitability Adjudicator for Marine Corps NAF positions. Advises and assists management on a continuing basis to find sound solutions to problems in support of personnel needs of the organization. Explores alternatives to accommodate management needs in the area of personnel administration. Disseminates factual information on which recommendations, decisions or other actions can be based; explains the basis for recommendations and actions. Responsible for preparing personnel directives, special reports and correspondence. Ensures that internal management control programs over personnel operations are in compliance with all current and applicable regulations. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
