About This Position

About the Position: Position(s) will be filled under the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) Pathways Intern Program. Interns NTE should be assigned work that is short-term, of a project-oriented nature or of similarly limited duration. They should primarily be assigned to help complete temporary projects or perform labor-intensive tasks not requiring subject-matter expertise or fill summer jobs. Qualifications

Who May Apply: Students who are eligible for participation in the Department of the Army Internship Program Positions are open to current students pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate in an accredited high school, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution on at least a half-time basis (as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled). Short-term training programs (e.g., several two-week programs completed) are not considered an academic course of study. Internship for current students in good standing at an accredited education.

Position is Temporary not to exceed Not to Exceed 90 days or Not to Exceed Sep 30, 2026, whichever comes first. In order to qualify you must first meet the Internship Program eligibility: GS-02 LEVEL: Completion of high school or GED diploma. For more information on qualifications please refer to OPM's Qualifications Standards. *Must be enrolled (or accepted for enrollment) in an accredited school on at least a half-time basis. *Proof of enrollment reflecting your Spring 2026 status (includes transcripts, class schedule, or acceptance letter).

Proof of future enrollment required upon entrance on duty. Physical requirements: (1) Stand for prolonged periods. (2) Lift up to 25 pounds independently. (3) Twisting, bending and manual dexterity using hands and upper body.

You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire. Work conditions: Environment is subject to temperature changes, including blasts of cool air from automatic doors. Major Duties

Sales Store Checkers work in a military grocery store. The work is like a cashier or clerk at your local grocery or retail store.

Receiving change fund.

Operating a cash register scanning system to list and total the prices of individual items purchased, including determining proper prices by scanning, price look-up, unit marking, or referring to price lists.

Collecting payment, assuring validity of cash items accepted, and making correct change when required.

Education

This position has an education requirement.

How You Will Be Evaluated
