About This Position

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Technical / Administrative Work Category at the Entry/Developmental Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. .

Qualifications

Student Interns qualify based on their educational achievements. In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the education requirements described below. Basic Requirements: For the GG-03 grade level: Completion of 1 full academic year of post high school study.

For the GG-04 grade level: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or associate's degree. For the GG-05 grade level: Completion of all requirements for a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree. For the GG-07 grade level: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education or eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision after completing a bachelor's degree.

Transcripts are (Required) along with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 - You will render an ineligible rating if the transcripts are not submitted.

Major Duties

The incumbent performs a variety of developmental assignments in support of the overall work of the organization classified at less than the full performance level for recruitment and training purposes.

The incumbent receives tailored instruction, guidance, training, and closer supervision designed to equip incumbent with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful performance in the intermediate or full performance level position.

As an advance-level Student Trainee in Information Technology, receives informal and on-the-job training intended to enhance individual technical competencies.

Assists in troubleshooting accessibility and availability problems and initiates corrective actions.

Education

For the GG-03 grade level: Completion of 1 full academic year of post high school study. For the GG-04 grade level: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or associate's degree. For the GG-05 grade level: Completion of all requirements for a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.

For the GG-07 grade level: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education or eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision after completing a bachelor's degree. To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.
