Qualifications

Time-In-Grade: For GS-12, current or former federal employees who have held a GS-11 position or higher in the proceeding 52 weeks must meet the time in grade requirement. Qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position is required. Specialized experience is defined as: conducting analysis on organizational space management to provide recommendations for improvements and policy development.

You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Major Duties

Ensure policies are technically sound and managerially responsive to meet organizational requirements.

Conduct comprehensive management studies using knowledge of economic principles, cost analysis and environmental assessments as related to space management, analyzing study results, and identifying problems and improvements.

Analyze and evaluate space requests considering activities organizational structure, workflow, staffing, mission, location, special requirements and availability of space.

Evaluate requests for additional space assignments within prescribed space allocations for permanent staff, approved contractor support, or ad hoc groups to determine the necessity for urgent requests.

Coordinate procurement and changes / moves of telephone and local area network services to support personnel and classified or unclassified equipment relocations for special projects.

Education

There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.
