Qualifications

QUALIFICAITON REQUIREMENTS: A four-year degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, communications, or related field, OR 2 years of business experience managing social media, website content, and other digital marketing communications, including email marketing. Demonstrated experience in creating engaging content for Facebook and Instagram, as well as executing initiatives that drive community growth and engagement. Basic understanding of, and experience with, website content management and Google Analytics.

Basic design and aesthetic judgment skills using creative tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud applications. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly for creating reports and briefs for management-level meetings and program reviews. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong English communication skills.

Major Duties

NONAPPROPRIATED FUND POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Marketing Technician BUSINESS TITLE: Social Media/Web Content Specialist FLSA: Nonexempt JOB SERIES: 1101 PAY LEVEL: NF3 Duties and Responsibilities: This position is in the Marketing Branch of Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), Camp S. D. Butler, Okinawa, Japan, and reports to the Digital Marketing Manager.

The primary purpose of this role is to develop and manage social media, website content, email newsletter(s), and other digital communication content in support of marketing MCCS Okinawa activities. Weekly responsibilities include creating and posting content on MCCS social media platforms, tracking and analyzing data, managing email newsletter(s), and updating and managing digital TV and marquee signage.

This position supports the Web Content Specialist by assisting with website content updates, posting event information, and ensuring the content is accurate and up to date. Additionally, the individual will be a backup and support for the Web Content Specialist during absences or high workload periods. Provides World Class customer service with an emphasis on courtesy.

Assists both internal and external customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Asks questions to determine, verify, and solve problems. Proactively checks for satisfaction with the quality of goods and services and takes action to solve problems quickly.

Alerts higher-level supervisors or appropriate point of contact for help when issues arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observed safe work procedures.

Promptly report any observed workplace hazards, injury, occupational illness, or property damage from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as required.

THIS POSITION IS FOR APPLICANTS CURRENTLY RESIDING IN OKINAWA OR ARRIVING ON OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT ORDERS TO OKINAWA WITHIN 30 DAYS. MILITARY SPOUSE PREFERENCE (MSP) - IAW DoDI 1400.25, Volume 315. May be exercised once per permanent relocation (PCS), when appointed to a regular full or part time position. Per DoDI 1400.25, volume 315, Enclosure 3, para 2.h.1, MSP eligibility terminates upon acceptance or refusal of an offer of a continuing position (part-time or full-time) in the federal service for which the spouse has registered for employment, whether or not preference was applied. Applicants hired into flexible positions (0-40 hours per week) or regular position with a time-limited appointment will not lose their spouse preference eligibility until movement or hired into a regular full or part time position.

The time period for MSP eligibility begins 30 days before the military sponsor's reporting date to the new duty station, if accompanied, or at any time thereafter during the tour. All military and DoD civilian spouses are required to provide a copy of their sponsor's orders during the application process.
