About This Position
The Office of Municipal Securities is seeking an Attorney Adviser (Senior Counsel - OMS). As a Senior Counsel - OMS, you will join a well-respected team that coordinates the SEC's municipal securities and administers the Commission's rules pertaining to municipal securities brokers and dealers, municipal advisors, investors in municipals securities, and municipal issuers. In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must also meet the minimum qualification requirement. SK-14: Applicant must have three (3) years of post J.D. work experience independently identifying legal issues, providing legal analyses, providing legal solutions/recommendations, and preparing legal documents, such as memoranda, correspondence, and orders, which also includes at least two (2) years of experience: Providing advice and guidance on matters related to Federal securities laws, regulations, and policies that also may include experience on matters related to the Federal securities laws involving municipal securities; OR Conducting briefings for management; AND/OR Attending briefings, meetings or conferences, conveying information on behalf of an organization. ACCOMPLISHMENT RECORD COMPETENCIES: Your Accomplishment Record narratives should address the following competencies.

Workload Management (core) - Effectively prioritizes workload in a way that accommodates unforeseen developments and achieves successful outcomes.
Major Duties
In this role as a Senior Counsel - OMS, you will be responsible for: Providing expert legal assistance and advice related to the activities of the Office of Municipal Securities. Analyzing and interpreting new and proposed legislation and implementing regulations. Assisting in the formulation of policy.
Participating in the drafting of regulations, interpretive releases, and policy briefing materials for agency officials in the municipal securities area. Participating in policy briefings for agency officials. Performing legal research and analysis to formulate and recommend legal courses of action on matters affecting municipal securities.
Consulting with staff in other Offices and Divisions on issues involving municipal securities. Consulting with State and local government officials, Congressional staff, other Federal officials, and private sector professionals on matters affecting municipal securities.
Education

You will be evaluated for this position based on how well you meet the qualifications listed in this announcement.
