Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Zablocki VA Medical Center is an innovative care center within the Veterans Integrated Service Network 12 (VISN 12). VISN 12 includes medical centers and clinics in Wisconsin, Illinois, northwestern Indiana, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Inpatient Staff/Medical - Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Other duties are, but not limited to: Interacting appropriately and courteously with internal and external customers. Ensuring confidentiality of patient/employee data across electronic, verbal, and written formats. Working safely, adhering to infection control procedures and proper equipment operation guidelines. Integrating and applying principles of the Medical Center Performance Improvement program to enhance professional practice. Providing holistic care that addresses the biopsychosocial needs of the served population, integrating knowledge of aging-related changes and adult/geriatric growth and development principles. All other duties, as assigned.
