Qualifications
Must possess basic knowledge of athletic/recreational activities and customer service. The ability to read and interpret guidelines pertaining to facility operation, which are directly applicable to MCCS policies. Ability to communicate orally and in writing using tact and courtesy. Must have basic computer skills or the capacity to learn basic such skills. Or a minimum of six months related recreation/athletic experience or progressively responsible work, which indicates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position. CPR and First Aid certification required or the ability to obtain within one month from the date of hire. May be required to obtain government drivers' license.
Major Duties
Maintains the Physical Activity Center front desk functions. Receives and directs persons who call or visit the Physical Activity Center. Provides information in person or by telephone concerning the athletic, fitness and health/wellness programs. Monitors patron usage and eligible through Rec Trac procedures. Processes payments for fitness classes and other reservations through Rec Trac. Ensures only authorized personnel are entering the facility. Periodically checks and replenishes the indoor athletic facilities restrooms for supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap etc. Helps prepare and maintain gymnasiums and other playing fields for formal, recurring and informal sports. Incumbent is responsible for daily maintenance and cleanliness of specific facility areas i.e. softball fields football fields and picnic pavilions in accordance with established safety procedures. May ensure playing surfaces and facilities are properly maintained, safe and ready for play. Performs scheduled safety, fire and sanitation inspections of all indoor and outdoor athletic facilities and corrects discrepancies or reports discrepancies that are beyond their control to appropriate personnel and supervisor. Helps maintain inventory and accountability of all athletic supplies and equipment in accordance with internal control procedures. This position is emergency essential. May be required to work when the rest of the Base is closed. Performs other related duties as assigned/required.
