Recreation Aide ( Golf Course)
About This Position
This position is located in the Morale, Welfare & Recreation Department, Naval Station Rota, Spain. The purpose of this position is to provide outstanding customer service to the golfing community and assistance to the Golf Course Professional/Manager in the day to day golf operational duties.
Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess: A qualified candidate possess the following:6 months of general experience OR one (1) year of education above high school.
Must be meeting customers, handling cash and merchandise; and work experience in a golf shop, participation in golf competition as a player, and other demonstrated ability in and knowledge of the game of golf is preferred. The incumbent must be familiar and comfortable dealing with the public on a daily basis. Must be familiar with cash register operations, cash handling and reporting.
Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages. Work is performed indoors or outdoors under varied weather conditions. Physical exertion is involved in standing and walking for long periods. Position requires a constant vigilance to ensure maximum security for both patrons and employees in and around the facility.
Major Duties
The incumbent opens and closes the facility on assigned shifts. Greets customers and ensures patron eligibility, answer the telephone, and provides information. Prepares and serves hot and cold snacks, sodas, beer, wine, and mixed drinks to patrons.
Refills food and beverage containers. Sells golf equipment and accessories, operates a cash register, collects monies, and makes change. Responsible for assigned funds, receipts, and inventories. Prepares Daily Activity Reports (DAR's) and other forms and reports as required.
Assist supervisor to ensure proper starts and smooth play during tournaments and peak hours of play. Maintains a clean and hazard free work area. Observes and enforces operating policies, safety and sanitary regulations and procedures.
May be required on occasion to assist in course maintenance with range ball and flag stick pick up, and golf cart retrieval and storage, monitors golf cart rental and golf club rental. Performs other related duties as assigned.
