About This Position

About the position: This position will be assigned to the Hubbard Golf Course at Hill AFB, UT. This is a Flexible position, with weekly hours ranging from 0-40. Recruitment and Retention Incentives may be authorized.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures; however, no experience is required. Knowledge of the etiquette and rules of golf is desirable but not required. Must be able to physically lift of to 40 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must be able to work irregular shifts to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier I background check.

Major Duties

Performs duties of starter and course monitor. Maintains a list of reserved tee times and starts players IAW their tee time. Maintains waiting list of play for patrons not having a reserved tee time. Ensures that only authorized patrons and guests use the facility by checking current green fee tickets before allowing them to proceed to number one tee. Ensures that all groups tee off on time and that all players are in compliance with the dress code policy. Ensures that carts are fully serviced prior to being released to patrons. Inspects carts for damage prior to cleaning and parking them in the cart barn; reports any damage to supervisor. Performs minor preventive maintenance on power and pull carts; reports major/significant repairs to supervisor. Monitors, maintains, and ensures a steady pace of play in accordance with the established policy for pace of play. Ensures the safety of all golfers. Ensures that all players demonstrate proper golf etiquette by abiding by the rules of golf, e.g., raking traps, replacing divots, repairing ball marks on the greens, etc. Assists tournament director with tournament play. Supervises operation of driving range. Retrieves and washes range balls as necessary. May trim shrubbery, clean sidewalks, mow grass, and monitor outside area immediately surrounding club house. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
