GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in administrative, professional, investigative and/or technical work. Experience evaluating information and/or using analytical skills to disseminate effective communication. Experience in compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information.

Experience using computers and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training involving knowledge of writing, communication principles, methods and techniques that relate to the public affairs of an agency. Experience in applying and adapting knowledge of strictly controlled situations of an agency.

Experience writing articles on routine events of non-controversial subjects. Experience responding timely and appropriately to requests for information concerning agency programs and services. Experience participating in meetings with specialized groups to listen to and understand feedback on agency programs that are of particular interest to public.

Major Duties

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the DC Army National Guard. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: You must meet the minimum military rank as specified in this announcement. Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement The National Guard's full-time support program requires that all military technicians are members of the National Guard and are appointed to full-time positions which correspond to their military assignments. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Minimum Military Rank: E-3/PFC Maximum Military Rank: E-6/SSG Other requirements: For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within One (1) year of appointment Works for the local Army National Guard Recruiting (ARNG) and Retention Battalion (RRB) in the Marketing and Advertising section. Serves as the Social Media Content Specialist responsible for developing modern and engaging content to support the battalion's engagement strategy for reaching its internal and external audiences as part of the recruiting and retention mission for the ARNG.

This position will assist the Marketing and Advertising NCOIC with planning social media strategies and content to communicate the ARNG Recruiting and Retention Command's communication focus areas, priorities and missions at the battalion level.

This position will engage with audiences on the battalion's social media platforms, provide content to support Recruiting and Retention Company level social media pages, and will also establish and maintain working relationships with social media counterparts at the Recruiting and Retention headquarters. Duties: Plans and creates multimedia content using graphic design, photo manipulation and video editing software and techniques. Must be able to operate the battalion's host of social media platforms.

Must be knowledgeable of DOD and Army policies regarding social media. Assists with managing the battalion's Social Media Content Calendar. Provides or coordinates for social media coverage of major communication events and efforts using the battalion's official social media platforms, including but not limited to, Future Soldier events, educator tours, awards for recruiters, and other key recruiting functions.

Provides updates to brigade and USAREC headquarters regarding upcoming social media activity to coordinate amplifying coverage at higher levels. Performs other duties as assigned.
