About This Position

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a POWERED SUPPORT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER, Position Description Number D0473000 and is part of the KS AASF 1, National Guard.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-1 through E-7 Compatible Military Assignments: Immaterial GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of mechanical work; ability to read and use technical manuals, illustrations, diagrams and schematics, and skill in the use of equipment and hand tools used in troubleshooting, testing and repairing equipment. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which demonstrate a basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic theory and the makeup and operation of the various individual systems and their interrelationships. Experience using a small variety of test and measurement devices. Experience removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning and installing a variety of parts, components, and accessories. Experience reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and schematics. WORKING CONDITICNS: Works inside and outside in inclement weather, on icy, wet and slippery ramps, aircraft surfaces and work stands. Subject to the dangers from exposure to toxic fumes, high pressure air and fluids, aud electrical current. Subject to the hazards of engine intake noise, fumes, heat, blast and rotating propellers. Physical efforts to involve climbing, stooping, standing, bending, stretching, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.

Major Duties

As a POWERED SUPPORT EQUIPMENT OPERATOR, WG- 5378-08, you will troubleshoot, repair, service, perform minor modifications on, and operate powered qround support equipment such as AC and DC power generators, air compressors, blowers, heaters, portable lighting units, de-icers, and nonpowered equipment to include workstands, jacks, ramps, tow-bars, etc. Troubleshoot equipment and determines the extent of repairs the incumbents authorized to perform as well as the parts required. The authorized level of maintenance includes minor tuneups and adjustments of internal combustion and turbine engines, carburetors, clutch linkaqe, brakes, and other mechanical links which utilize common hand tools and a small variety of test equipment. Perform other duties as assigned.
