About This Position

Serves as a Parking Operations Assistant in the Parking Garage Department of the Hale Koa Hotel. This announcement is open to current Hale Koa Hotel employees only. The first cut-off date will be on March 19, 2026. Additional lists will be pulled after this first cut-off date at the request of the hiring manager.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations. Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking in English and able to communicate clearly and effectively.

Must be Microsoft Office proficient Must be able to drive and maneuver a motorized cart. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stretch for extended periods of time. Must be able to carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds; occasionally lift heavier items with assistance of others.

Major Duties

Performs work associated with the day-to-day operations of a parking facility encompassing a three level garage and a surface area lot. The functions are automated in that the fees charged and collected are performed by an automated system. Incumbent is required to work an assigned shift and assist patrons, as needed to enter, park, and exit the facility.

Verbally interacts with guests in a clear and concise manner and explains processes and procedures, location of machines, how to make payment, or resolve concerns; refers complex issues to the manager on-duty. Post inter-office communications. Prepares for peak periods of time by knowing available parking stalls or redirecting flow to other areas or locations.

Cooperates with law enforcement and security personnel for the benefit of patrons and their property. Provides visual oversight of operations by making rounds. Recommends improvements in operations based on factual data to management.

Completes various operational reports such as reports on the performance of equipment and the collection and accounting of fees for services provided. Duties also include the preparation of cash deposits and daily activity reports; validations based on military and civilian rank and standing; verifying associated data and identifying and correcting discrepancies; collating information and reports prior to forwarding to the proper person or office ensuring the protection of all sensitive information. Operates fee computer and processes parking tickets according to proper fee schedule and verification of ID.

Executes closing procedures, sends information to designated individuals and clears computers at designated times. Orders supplies and equipment while ensuring acceptable levels of stock while anticipating needs and executing as necessary. Maintains inventory and key controls during the assigned shift.

Prepares stalls for cleaning and places traffic cones. Enforces rules, policies and internal controls of the facility. Inspects equipment to insure proper operation. Performs routine maintenance and minor trouble shooting of the automated equipment as required in accordance with manufacturer specifications and authority granted by management.

Actuates parking equipment using key or code, monitors and maintains blank ticket supply in gates, monitors and maintains receipt supply, and monitors and maintains change and receipt supply in pay stations. Maintains database and accurate expiration dates. Accepts payments for monthly parking fees and renewals.

Processes refunds and issues receipts.

PCS Costs: Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized based upon a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Allowances and Differentials: This job is part of a pay-banded system.
