About This Position
Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Food and Beverage; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); NBK Bangor - Plaza.

Possess a working knowledge of the operation in which they are assigned. Must possess a sharp people-oriented personality to include tact and diplomacy in dealing and communicating with people to influence, obtain cooperation and assistance. Must have the ability to properly supervise a group. Must have the ability to render decisions. Must present a neat, well groomed appearance. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, and to provide work direction to other employees
Major Duties
Ensure an efficient operation in accordance with regulations and procedures. Must promote good patron relationship and enhanced the image of the facility. Oversees operation and provides instruction and guidance to staff members. Ensures that patrons receive courteous and efficient service. Works with facility staff and others to ensure that the operation runs smoothly. Assist staff members to provide faster service to patrons. Coordinates with Manager to schedule employees and ensure adequate manning for routine operations. Ensures that all personnel are fully utilized, call in or release unnecessary personnel as the situation warrants to ensue effective labor cost. Inspects facilities and employees appearance, with particular attention given to dress and cleanliness. Evaluates employees on a timely manner. Ensures that proper cash handling procedures are followed. Prepares a report of all significant occurrences/incidents during shift (e.g. personnel/staffing issues, equipment break down or repair). Prepare, submit and receive Food Vendor orders. Perform monthly inventory audits. Identifies and resolves problems that may arise. Ensures that a thorough and comprehensive safety program is enforced. Participate in creating and promoting effective programs and activities. May be required to use a cash register and POS system May be called upon to perform duties of subordinate positions. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Conditions of Employment
A minimum of one year experience as a leader/supervisor in a business operation (i.e. restaurant, club, store front) is required. Familiarity with cash handling procedures and sales operation. Must be 18 years old or older. May be required to life up to 45lbs. Travel and related usage of vehicles is required. Successful completion of National Agency Background (NACI) Check required
