About This Position

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a NURSING (PRACTITIONER), Position Description Number T6002P01 and is part of the 109TH AW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Veteran's Preference does not apply due to this being a Professional Series position.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least one or more full years of professional nursing experience that is equivalent to the next lower grade level. Ability to analyze, plan, and evaluate the requirements for an occupational health program. Other work may assist in planning, scheduling, executing, managing, and administering installation-wide Medical management, which includes aerospace and operational disposition and medical case management to maintain and promote the health and well-being of military and technician personnel. The work involves counseling, teaching, coordination of services, and participating with other disciplines in interpreting and evaluating the program. Requires is a professional knowledge of nursing principles, theories, concepts, and standards to plan, develop, analyze, and review occupational health/nursing services provided to National Guard personnel throughout the state. Positions require professional knowledge of nursing to provide care to patients in nursing/occupational health. Major Duties

As a NURSING (PRACTITIONER), GS-0610-12, you will provide a fulltime, experienced Physician Assistant / Nursing (Practitioner) to support the planning, scheduling, execution, management, and administration of installation-wide medical management including, aerospace and operational disposition and clinical judgment for medical case management to promote and maintain the health and well-being of assigned Air National Guard (ANG) personnel.

Education

For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination(external link). In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. You must provide OFFICIAL transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
