METEOROLOGICAL TECHNICIAN

You will Interpret visible, infrared, synthetic aperture radar, and passive microwave sensor data to identify select environmental features.

You will use available imagery sources produce analyses and forecasts with a tailored geographical information system (GIS) that depict relevant information for routine products and tailored support products.

You will compile, analyze and interpret multiple data sources to produce high quality ice analyses and ice forecasts in digital or message format on a global, regional, or tactical scale.

You will use geographical information systems (GIS) to display data sources and perform standardized analysis.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: (e.g., meteorology, mathematics, engineering, or physical science) SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION of Two "2" full years of graduate education leading to a master's degree or Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree with major study or at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses in meteorology, mathematics, engineering, or physical science.
