About This Position

This is a full-time position with the Budget Office at the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington, D.C. Qualifications

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Must demonstrate the following: - Experience in using automated travel systems and in interpreting travel regulations, policies, and procedures. - Experience with financial/accounting management systems. - Experience in developing guidance for effective management and improvement of travel program operations. Must be a highly motivated, extremely detail-oriented individual.

Must have demonstrated trustworthiness, utmost discretion, excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task, exercise independent judgement, problem-solve, and act in a proactive manner to perform duties is essential. High proficiency with Internet and Microsoft Office products, including Excel, is required.

Major Duties

The incumbent will serve as an administrator for the Security Travel Management System (STM) and a point of contact (POC) for Court travel reservations. The incumbent will oversee the Dignitary Protection Unit (DPU) travel program; provide guidance to DPU leadership, officers, and travel leads, on DPU travel issues; troubleshoot issues, identity solutions, and adjust procedures in a timely manner. Other duties include providing counseling on government travel to Court staff attending trainings, conferences, or other types of travel; drafting travel authorizations; and serving as POC with TMC on booking airfare, hotel, and car reservations.

The incumbent oversees and reconciles the GTCC dedicated to general Court travel. Additional financial and audit duties include analyzing internal controls for proper separation of duties and review of compensating controls; implementing and maintaining internal audit policies and procedures for the Budget Officer; researching, reviewing, analyzing, and advising on federal regulations to incorporate into policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Education

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or at least 5 years of relevant Budget experience is required.
