This position is located at Sainte Genevieve National Historical Park located in Sainte Genevieve, MO. This is a TEMPORARY PROMOTION Opportunity, not to exceed 1 year and can be extended up to 5 years and may be made permanent without further competition.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. (Screen-out Element). Ability to perform work as a Maintenance Woker. Major Duties
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Performs non-supervisory work involved in the maintenance and repair of grounds, trails, docks, roads, exterior structures, buildings and related fixtures and utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices associated with occupations such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical. Paints wood, metal, equipment, interiors and exteriors of buildings using brush, roller and spray equipment. Mixes, pours, spreads and levels concrete in walls, slabs, walks and foundations that typically involve straight lines.
Makes electrical repairs and trouble shoots electrical wiring, fixtures, and controls by use of ohm/volt amp meters and visual inspection. Operates hydraulic and gear driven, diesel and gasoline powered dump trucks, forklifts, end loaders/backhoe, and bobcat with attachments. Install, adds, replaces, and cleans faulty plumbing and fixtures including leaky drains, dirty traps, and broken water and gas lines, as well as hooking up appliances including propane and oil stoves/heaters and installation of pumps, etc., to new and existing systems.
Performs carpentry repairs and construction of new and existing structures or items such as building storage shelves, dry wall, repair of roofs, doors and windows, stairs and decks. Maintains COR Level 2 certification and preforms COR duties for park acquisitions.

You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 1 nights per month.
You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Physical Demands: Physical effort is heavy to moderate, and requires occasional lifting or handling of objects or materials up to 50 pounds, unassisted, following proper lifting procedures to avoid injury.
Frequently required to stand while working, climb ladders or scaffolding, and bend, stoop, climb, and work in awkward positions. Working Conditions: Exposed to a variety of seasonal weather conditions while working outdoors (temperatures -40 to 90+ degrees). Subject to danger of falling from ladders or scaffolding.
Exposed to dust, dirt, wind, and rain. May work with dangerous chemicals and around moving equipment; paints, solvents, etc. May be exposed to electrical shocks, and biting insects.
Education
There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
