About This Position
Serves as a Maintenance Worker in the Engineering Department of the Hale Koa Hotel. Local candidates will be reviewed first as PCS is not authorized. If determined that area of consideration is to be expanded, all candidates will be considered.
Qualifications

Major Duties
Snakes tub drains and sink basins. Uses drain chemicals with proper personal protective equipment to unclog drains. Changes room filters, vacuum interiors of air conditioning units, and installs fungicide tablets. Cleans exhaust vents, screens, and fan assemblies. Tightens any loose room fixtures such as towel bars, toilet paper holders, and toilet seats. Verifies room televisions are in the interactive mode. Checks room thermostats for proper operation, lanai door locks and fan speeds. Checks and or reapplies caulking on tub/shower, toilet, sink, door casing, and base boards and moldings. Repairs any leaking water faucets, running toilets, cut off valves, flapper valves ball cocks, or aerators. Installs soap dishes. Installs tile when it is cracked, or repairs cracked or missing tile, grout, flooring including tile base boards. Repairs closet shelving and paints. Replaces worn fixtures such as shower heads, tub spouts, escutcheons, over-flow plates, pop up drains, basin faucets, or basin pop up assemblies. Paints and or repairs wallpaper, walls, and ceiling to finish condition. Checks and repairs refreshment cabinets, gaskets, and shelves. Repairs or replaces weather stripping and door bumpers. Repairs or replaces lights for proper operating condition. Ensure Lanai door height is at the proper height and in the correct track. Lubricates door locks and hinges. Replaces missing door bumper guards. Cleans, replaces if needed, and retime entry door locks. Adjusts door closers for proper operation and timing. Cleans, lubricates, and adjusts door lanai door tracks, locks and rollers. Clean fire sprinkler heads, and smoke alarms. Replaces damaged and or cracked wall plates, switches, junction boxes, and outlets.

Area of Consideration: This job is open to candidates who live in this commuting area (the Island of Oahu). If determined that area of consideration is to be expanded, all candidates will be considered. If you reside outside of the local commuting area, relocation costs will be at your expense. PCS Costs: Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized based upon a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Allowances and Differentials: This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week - whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
