Conditions of Employment

Assists in the disassembly, repair, modification, preventative maintenance, installation, removal and assembly of machinery and equipment.
Supports higher level mechanics in repairing and testing simpler electrical accessories and components for industrial machinery. Assists higher-level personnel with tasks in painting, plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry.
Participates as a member of a group in making preventive maintenance inspections of equipment, electrical equipment and performing minor adjustments and corrective maintenance to industrial equipment.
Ensures safety, housekeeping, and environmental compliance are met, and personal protective equipment is used correctly. Monitors hazardous materials (oil, paint, solvents) and submits spill reports, ensuring timely and proper cleanup of spills.
May drive a truck weighing up to 2.5 ton or flat bed, to assist in accomplishing the duties associated with this job.
