About This Position

This position serves as a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor within the Division of Facilities Management, Office of Environmental Health and Engineering (OEH&E), at the Santa Fe Service Unit, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Incumbent supervises maintenance staff responsible for maintaining healthcare facilities and building systems to ensure safe, reliable, and code-compliant operations that support patient care. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Qualifications

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards.

Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which appears as question 1 in the online questionnaire. Major Duties

Supervise and direct maintenance personnel performing preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and facility operations for hospitals, clinics, offices, warehouses, central plants, and grounds. Plan, assign, and coordinate maintenance work; establish priorities, allocate staff, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and accreditation standards. Provide technical leadership by troubleshooting complex HVAC/DDC, electrical, boiler, plumbing, refrigeration, roofing, and other building system issues; perform advanced maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.

Manage administrative functions, including work orders, performance management, training, leave administration, CMMS documentation, and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) responsibilities.
