About This Position

You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC in the NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

Major Duties

You will conduct visual inspections and operational tests to determine the need for maintenance or repair work.

You will perform maintenance on electrical, plumbing, pipefitting, or mechanical systems to maintain buildings and equipment.

You will have skill in interpreting building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering, drawings, and maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out the work and skill to use trade formulas to calculate common properties.

You will operate tools and equipment following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
