About This Position

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT OFFICER, Position Description Number D1066000 and is part of the HI AASF 1, National Guard. LOCATION: Army Aviation Support Facility No. 1, Hawaii Army National Guard, Kapolei, Hawaii

Qualifications

Ensure that the Questionnaire is completed on Application Manager. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field.

Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Must have experience, education, or training which includes identifying activities involving logistical support operations.

Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions.

Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.

MILITARY TECHNICIAN COMPATIBILITY: Prior to placement in this position, the selected applicant must be assigned to an appropriate military position and must meet the definition of a dual status technician in accordance with 32 U S C 709. COMPATIBLE MOS: 15 series NOTES TO CANDIDATES: a. Situations of inversion of military rank are not permitted, i.e., a military technician may not be militarily senior to his or her full-time supervisor. b.

Authorization for payment of PCS expenses may be granted only after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Hawaii National Guard. c.

Major Duties

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The purpose of the position is to manage, plan, organize, and direct AASF logistics operations in support of AASF and supported aviation unit training and flight operations. The Aviation Logistics Management Officer (ALMO) provides logistical support to, and partners with, the AASF Commander, Flight Operations, Safety, Quality Assurance, and supported unit commanders in planning, scheduling, and implementing a comprehensive flying program. Collaborates with the AASF Commander, AASF staff, and supported unit commanders to plan, develop, and implement long and short term plans to effectively use aircraft and flying hours, and to accomplish vital training and operational missions.

Reviews and evaluates higher-level headquarters' directives and policies for AASF implementation. Through subordinate supervisors, directs staff and production functions related to aircraft maintenance, production support, material services, ground support, and facility services. Administers a sound personnel management program to ensure that personnel in staff, supervisory, and technical positions are highly qualified and motivated.

Base level of work supervised is GS-09. Administers a safety and security program within AASF logistics functions. The logistics function serves as focal point for AASF automation. Assumes the full duties and responsibilities of the AASF Commander in his/her absence as required.
