About This Position
This position is located at USAG Wiesbaden - MWR Wiesbaden Library, Wiesbaden, Germany. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.
Qualifications
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade such as: follow basic and well-established library procedures, perform duties related to circulation, acquisition, disposal of library materials, as well as collection, maintenance and preservation of books. OR Two years of education above high school. OR A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Knowledge and experience formulating library programs to include STEM and STEAM programming, story-time, crafting programs or other high interest community programs. Applicant meeting the Best Qualifying Criteria/Highly Preferred will be referred to the hiring manager. All other qualified applicants will be referred if requested by the hiring manager. Major Duties
Provides technician support by performing a wide variety of direct services to the public: registers patrons, charges/discharges materials, processes overdues and reserves, assists with interlibrary loans and reserves, shelves library materials.
Prepares displays, programs activities, answers basic reference questions, and assists customers in locating materials.
Provides technical services support in a variety of functions: basic/copy cataloging, ordering/receiving/processing and de-acquisitioning of library materials.
Assists in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories.
Performs simple maintenance on the library's automated systems.
Prepares displays, programs activities, answers basic reference questions, and assists customers in locating materials.
