Qualifications
Specialized Experience: GS-14: Applicant must demonstrate one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-13 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties: Analyzing incident reports to determine appropriate escalation from law enforcement personnel that will ensure timely and coordinated responses; Conducting inspections of protective operations or security systems to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions; Preparing situational reports to distribute to leadership, summarizing key operational developments during particular incidents; Coordinating notification practices for information flow between federal, state, and/or local agencies during critical events; and Performing law enforcement duties requiring physical action, such as pursuing and apprehending suspects, detaining individuals, and securing crime scenes in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying).

TRAINING: The incumbent must meet the experience, basic training and in-service training requirements established for the exercise of law enforcement authorities.
The incumbent must successfully complete the designated, required training or equivalent, which includes the Criminal Investigator Training Program {CITP), the Uniformed Police Training Program {UPTP) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), as well as the Agency Individual Training Program {AITP). Additionally, the selectee must successfully complete other in-service requirements such as weapons qualifications for the exercise of law enforcement authority as conferred under 40 USC, Section 1315. Mobility Agreement: This position may require the incumbent to be reassigned to different geographic locations.
Accordingly, the incumbent will be required to sign a mobility agreement, which will remain in effect through the duration of the assignment. Motor Vehicle Operation: The position requires that the incumbent possess a valid driver's license, maintain a safe driving record, and demonstrate that they are medically qualified to operate a motor vehicle safely in accordance with the standards and procedures established in 5 CFR 930. Periodic verification of license and safe driving record will be required.
Occupational safety and Health Requirement: The incumbent will be required to comply with all pertinent Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)requirements including use of all personal proactive equipment (PPE) provided, in accordance with training work instructions, and a required by the task at hand
Major Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to manage the Federal Protective Service's Operations Center, ensuring accurate information flow, effective coordination of law enforcement responses, and compliance with security standards to protect federal facilities and personnel. Duties performed: Serving as subject matter expert developing and implementing mission-essential goals for use in law enforcement/security missions. Providing law enforcement assistance during emergencies, including pursuing and apprehending suspects, detaining individuals, and securing crime scenes.
Overseeing training for personnel assigned to the Federal Protective Service Operation Center. Enforcing federal laws and facility regulations to protect life, property, and civil rights.

Promotion Potential: This position is at the full performance level. Firearms Requirements: The incumbent will be required to carry a firearm while performing duties of this position. Maintaining firearm proficiency is mandatory.
The incumbent must satisfactorily complete (or have previously completed) the firearms component of the Criminal Investigation Training Program (CITP) or Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP). Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition. Lautenberg Amendment: This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position. Tour Of duty: must be available for overtime and shift work. Random Drug Testing: The incumbent of this position is subject to random drug testing.
