Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-12 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience with knowledge management IT systems; or developing virtual learning program plans, or establishing information technology capital planning processes. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Major Duties
Facilitates the acquisition of IT resources while maximizing value and managing risks and by advocating for the selection of technology products and services that meet NDUβs business and community.
Expert knowledge of and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to assess the knowledge needs of the NDU community and to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiencies of various KM and change management processes.
Identifies structural (operational business processes), and technological (databases, applications and services) knowledge assets at baseline. Champions cross-component communities of practice; establish incentives for effective knowledge management.
Develops a knowledge management strategy that outlines the intend to implement knowledge management principles and practices to achieve organizational objectives. Develops internal and external communication.
Ensures IA policies related to knowledge sharing and knowledge products are being upheld, including copyright and content licensing agreements not governed by the library, and Terms of Service.
Education
Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.
