About This Position

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) T32, PDD1617P02 and is part of the AZ USPFO, National Guard.

Qualifications

Military Grades: Enlisted: E-6/SSG to E-8/1SG/MSG Warrant Officer Candidate: WOC Warrant Officer: WO1-CW4 Compatible Military Assignments: Enlisted: 25B30 MOS Warrant Officer Candidate: 09W MOS Warrant Officer: 255A MOS SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 1 year specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade.

In addition to the OPM IORs (Alternative A) specialized experience examples, specialized experience includes experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment.

Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. Individual Occupational Requirements: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Major Duties

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This position is located at the United States Property and Fiscal Office (USPFO), in Phoenix, Arizona. The purpose of the position is to serve as the technical expert and project leader for information technology (IT) systems administration. The systems administered involve multiple computers running multiple operating systems. The incumbent is responsible for the planning and coordinating the installation, testing, system security configuration and monitoring, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of all server hardware and software.

Ability to plan, organize, and lead the information technology (IT) activities of the USPFO organization, ensuring that the advice and assistance provided complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.

  1. Skilled in exercising and IT data management and applying System Administration principles and concepts in support to the USPFO requirements.
  2. Ability to represent the organization with a variety of state and functional area organizations on IT matters.
  3. Skilled in maintaining information technology systems and integrate solutions regarding overall command, control, communications and computers (C4) program objectives of federal customers, while prioritizing USPFO mission requirements.
  4. Knowledge of and skill in implementing and testing of the USPFO Continuity of Operation Plan (COOP) to ensure system operation, functionality, and security in the event of a natural disaster or catastrophic system failure.
