About This Position

The primary purpose of this position is to Support 96th Test Wing through deployment and sustainment of robust operation capabilities, programs and services. Provide proven infrastructure capabilities, operations and services to meet the needs of Air Force Test Center and all Eglin's customers while preparing for the challenges of the cyberspace domain.
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 located here . This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. General experience in assisting with base level accountability of sensitive information technology equipment and asset management operations and support of the installation's information technology equipment, computers, network equipment and all other IT equipment assets; assisting with the receiving, acceptance, distribution and accountability of all IT assets; assisting as a base software license manager; providing management assistance and consultation on processes; establishes procedures. The experience must demonstrate each of the following four competencies: 1) Attention to Detail, 2) Customer Service, 3) Oral Communication, 4) Problem solving. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. OR EDUCATION: Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the following fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. Ideal Candidate (statement is placed within the announcement): Have exceptional experience and performance at the GS-09/GS-11 grade equivalency in information technology (IT) service management. Be able to work well with teams and to provide customers with the best IT support and services. Knowledge and experience in public key infrastructure, local registration authority tokens issuance, certification and registration practices as listed in the specialized experience statement. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Intermediate knowledge level of LAN/WAN and system principles, techniques and practices sufficiently to install, configure, and troubleshoot client systems and components; Assist in the planning, operation, and maintenance of a LAN/WAN, including the installation and implementation of enhancements. 2. Ability to provide advanced IT technical support to customers. 3. Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply computer sciences and information technology principles and practices. 4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to work in team to solve complex issues. 5. Advanced knowledge level of systems principles and techniques, enterprise IT architecture and new IT technologies, (e.g. cyber operations, prototypes, pilots, and operational applications). 6. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations with other personnel to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Major Duties
Responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing all hardware, software, network failures, and providing a solution for IT service request elevated to the assigned tier. Responsible for receiving, imaging, inventory, and deployment of all new and life-cycle replacement systems. Actively supports daily operations and sustainment of enterprise configuration management.
